All ballots must be voted and returned to any elections office by mail or in person no later than 5 PM on May 18 (7 PM at the Viera Office) to be eligible to be counted.
Mail ballots do not require witnesses like absentee ballots. They do, however, require that you write your full Brevard County residence address, including city, state and zip code, and sign your name in the appropriate spaces on the return envelope. All signatures will be verified against our registration records. Ballots with blank or improperly completed certificates will not be counted.

The City of Cocoa has adopted Ordinance No. 11-2004 calling for annexation to the City of Cocoa of certain land located adjacent to the City generally known as the Pinegrove Subdivision. Annexation will not occur unless a majority of the registered electors casting ballots in the area proposed to be annexed approve the annexation.
FOR ANNEXATION OF PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN ORDINANCE NO. 11-2004 OF THE CITY OF COCOA
AGAINST ANNEXATION OF PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN ORDINANCE NO. 11-2004 OF THE CITY OF COCOA
Mail ballot election: This election is being conducted as a mail ballot election. This means that ballots were mailed to each registered voter in the proposed annexation area. There will be no polling places open for this election. Ballots were mailed on April 28, 2004 (except for overseas voters, whose ballots were mailed on April 13). Because this election is being conducted by mail ballot, you do not need to request an absentee ballot. However, if you reside in the proposed annnexation area and you have moved and not notified the elections office, or if you will not be at your residence address (or will not have access to the mailing address that we have on file for you) after April 28, you must contact us to update your address information and/or to let us know where to mail your ballot.
Moving into the proposed annexation area: If you move into the proposed annexation area from another area of the county after the ballot mailing period (after May 8), you may vote in office as noted below. Due to requirements of state law, no ballots other than replacement ballots may be mailed after May 8.
Voting in office: Voters with special needs or who are unsure where they will be during the mailing period may vote at the Merritt Island or Viera Supervisor of Elections offices during regular office hours from April 13 until 5 PM on May 18 (7 PM at the Viera Office).
Military and overseas voters: If you are in the military or are temporarily residing outside of the country, and you have not notified our office of your military or overseas address, please contact us immediately. If you have notified us previously of your current address, you do not need to do so again. Overseas voters' ballots were mailed April 13 in order to give you sufficient time to vote and return the ballot.
